With an appetite for good music and a stomach for fun, Comfort a.k.a. Dave C. Vassell combines his childhood fantasy of fun with an adult’s perspective of relaxation and peace of mind. “Music is a gift from God above and should not be taken lightly or misused. I truly believe musicians are like shepherds leading the Fathers children. A well-written piece of music can influence millions of God’s children. My greatest desire will be to see people of all races and nations stand up hand in hand and rejoice together through the universal language – MUSIC.”
With a range of musical exposure, which spans from Reggae, R&B, Ska, Gospel and Soul, Comfort has performed at home and abroad as the lead singer for Toronto’s Ska sensational band, The Arsenals. Comfort has opened the stage for the likes of Third World, Toots and the Matals, Freddy McGreggor, Morgan Heritage, Shaggy, Bounty Killa, Vybes Cartel, Anthony B, Wayne Wonder, Steve Knight, Len Hammond, Buju Banton, General Trees, Brigadier Jerry, Peaches and Herb, the Manhattans, K-OS, Mos Def, Divine Earth Essence, Dawn Silva and Jill Scott.
Comfort soothes his audiences with his sensual and commanding voice that seems to suggest, “This is only the beginning.” ”I love to see the adoration on the faces of the audience while I sing about the many joys and pains of yesterday, today, and the future. I know that true enjoyment and enrichment can only come through the mutual respect we have for each other. Through the grace of God and the love of my fans, I hope to be around to pass on the knowledge that I will acquire over the years. Only when we finally learn to love and respect each other for whom and what we are, then and only then will we finally be at peace. JAH BLESS!!”
