Dahlia

Dahlia performs at the TD IRIE Music Festival on Monday, August 1st at Queen’s Park

Dahlia opens the window to her soul as she sings from the heart about her passion for love and her views on life learning experiences. She started singing and acting in Sunday school concerts and plays as she grew up in Portland, Jamaica. Dahlia was 12 when she migrated to Montreal to join her mother and two young brothers. Her passion for music continued to grow and in high school she started writing songs, took voice lessons, and started entering talent shows.

By incorporating her bilingual skills into her writing and performance, Dahlia began to expand on her talent. That led to her performances on various fashion shows and university events, but when she teamed up with ISBA/Sony recording artist, DJ Ray, it was like the attainment of a new level. She began touring then took it a step further when she co-wrote the song “Confessions” and performed it on DJ Ray’s second album.

Fans and critics hailed the young diva as Montreal’s songbird, and not long after, she opened for such acts as Sugar Minott, Tony Rebel, Shaggy, and Craig Mack.
