Lady Pista is a singer, songwriter and record producer from Toronto, Ontario. Being of the Sri Lankan-Tamil decent, she describes her music as having no formula. The unpredictable sounds are a hybrid of all her musical influences ranging from hip hop to dancehall to hard hitting ethnic drum beats. Her unformulated style of music expresses a desire to be unpredictable.

Lady Pista first expressed her love for music at the age of 16 when she was introduced to the art of remixing records. Experimenting with different sounds she quickly developed her own unique twist to the records. After steadily gaining popularity throughout 2007 for her production work, her curiosity to create her own music embarked her on a solo career in 2008.

On October 16th, 2010 Lady Pista released her debut EP entitled Ritual. The album was produced by electro/pop record producer Starwalker and co-produced by Lady Pista. Singles including Underground Dancefloor and Step Back gained recognition in the album’s immediate popularity. Today Lady Pista sets out to release her debut album in the summer of 2011 and says “you really need to listen to the music to understand.”
